Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness: Transitioning to Higher Education

This on-demand training video walks you through the key provisions of the Higher Education Act and provides a picture of the higher education landscape for children and youth experiencing homelessness (CYEH). The content in this webinar will give you information to support CYEH with transitions to higher education. By viewing this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the rights and protections available to CYEH under the Higher Education Act;
  • Guide CYEH through the FAFSA process, including the differences in documentation requirements for both accompanied and unaccompanied youth; and
  • Identify financial aid opportunities and application supports, including fee waivers, scholarships, and campus-based resources available to CYEH.
