Updates to NCHE Resources

photo of President Barack Obama signing into law the Every Student Succeeds ActOn December 10, 2015, President Obama signed into law the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). ESSA reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the education subtitle of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, including new provisions related to the education of homeless children and youth.

NCHE is working diligently to update existing NCHE resources to reflect changes made by ESSA. Please note, however, that, during the period of transition to ESSA implementation, NCHE resources may continue to reflect statutory provisions included in the previous version of ESEA (the No Child Left Behind Act), many of which continue to be in effect under ESSA.

Please visit the NCHE ESSA webpage for more information or email homeless@serve.org with questions. ⇑ back to top
